A great start to the revamped My Paper

In conjunction with the revamp on 1 November 2012, My Paper conducted a 2-day on-site promotional activity to celebrate its launch.

In the morning of 1 November, 50 cyclists in executive outfits rode around the Central Business District, stopping to hand out copies of the paper.

During the lunch hours, My Paper sipper mugs filled with Nescafe Ipoh White Coffee were given away from the My Paper mobile pushcarts at various locations in town as well as from My Paper mobile coffee truck at various locations in town, Mapletree Business City and International Business Park.

Readers gave the thumbs up to the latest revamped My Paper, describing it as “refreshing”, “attractive” and “appealing”. 

"Aesthetically and structurally, the paper looks better than the previous version. The revamped My Paper is more appealing to readers." said Ms Lau Yean Fung, 41, a banking executive at United Overseas Bank.

Young professionals like recruitment consultant, Ms June Tiong, 25, grabbed a copy at Raffles Place MRT Station after the cover-story headline "Why Singapore jobless rate dipped in Sept" caught her eye, as such stories targeted at executives strike a chord with them.

Readers also said they look forward to the bonanza of new and expanded sections in the My Executive section.

Highlights to watch out for include more parenting coverage on Mondays; a self-improvement section called Advance on Tuesdays, and a consumer-guide section called Shop on Fridays. The daily Sports section is re-angled as Active, with more focus on lifestyle pursuits, such as gym, sports and yoga.

Aside from the beefed-up content, readers were also wowed by the bold and vibrant layout.

Ms Helen Lee, 36, a public service manager, said: "It's clearly categorised, at one glance, we know whether we are in the news, entertainment or lifestyle sections."

Bank Executive Victor Lee, 31 was especially impressed with the newspapers layout. He said: "It’s neater now and much easier to read as each section is concise."

In line with the revamp, My Paper also conducted a series of weekly in-paper reader’s promotions to give away attractive prizes and discounts like tickets to the SM Town Concert, movie tickets to the gala premiere of ‘Cold War’, a 7D6N Taiwan Holiday package for two by ASA Holidays, attractive gourmet offers by Mandarin Court, Tokyo Walker and Dairy Queen, as well as a Creative Writing Contest to win shopping vouchers and products from Frasers Centrepoint Malls.
