Wanbao CoffeeTalk discussed MOM's latest ruling

Held at the Clementi Mall on 18 November 2012, the Wanbao CoffeeTalk event touched on the compulsory ruling of providing a mandatory rest day for foreign domestic workers.

Supported by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), this lively and appealing session, provided readers useful insights on this new ruling. 

Guest speakers, Mr Tay Khoon Beng, Managing Director from Best Homes Employment Agency and Ms Yvonne Tan, a self-employed mother of three shared their experiences and views on this new requirement.

Mr Phua Boon Leng, Director of the Well-Being Management Department, Foreign Manpower Management Division from MOM said, “Our first Wanbao Coffee Talk has brought together our Chinese-speaking employers for a lively spirited discussion on what usually is a serious topic. MOM found that this is indeed an interesting and useful platform to help us reach out to our stakeholders. We will certainly explore doing more of such CoffeeTalks on other issues in the near future.”

The Wanbao CoffeeTalk is a series of talkshows for Wanbao editorial and readers to engage in a lively chat on the latest current and social issues.

Regular guest speakers are the Mr Chua Chim Kang, Editor of Lianhe Wanbao and  Mr Huang Ming De, CEO of Marine Parade Family Service Centre.  The event is hosted by renowned UFM 100.3 DJ, Huang Wen Hong.
