Travelling photo exhibition to celebrate Lianhe Zaobao's 90th anniversary

Lianhe Zaobao, the Chinese flagship newspaper of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), celebrates its 90th anniversary this year. As part of its year-long celebration, Lianhe Zaobao and Canon jointly presented "Impressions of Singapore" (印象新加坡), a travelling photo exhibition featuring 90 photographs depicting different facets of Singapore.

The exhibition were displayed over  4 locations islandwide at VivoCity, 112 Katong, JEM and Chinatown Point from 22 - 29 Sept.

Of the 90 works on display, 80 were taken by Lianhe Zaobao's team of photojournalists. These photos capture some historic moments from 1954 to the present year. Another 10 were photo entries submitted by members of the public for the "Impressions of Singapore" photo contest.

The contest attracted overwhelming response from readers, with more than 4,000 online submissions received.

Mr Edwin Teoh, Assistant Director of Canon Singapore said: “Lianhe Zaobao has been a key staple of the Chinese community in Singapore, serving as a voice for them as well as documenting and being a rich depository of Singapore news that will matter to all Chinese readers (both locally and abroad). Photography is one such medium to capture these visual stories and Canon is pleased to have partnered Lianhe Zaobao in the “Impressions of Singapore” competition and exhibition as part of its milestone 90th anniversary celebrations.”
